What you get in a brand audit
We deliver the report as a PDF with screenshots and photos of the assessed materials, so every note can be seen right away.
Touchpoint review
Logo, website, social media, printed materials, proposals and, in larger packages, signage, packaging and documents.
Consistency scoring
Every touchpoint assessed against the same criteria: logo, colours, typography, photos, language and legibility.
Fix list
Specific changes described so your team or any designer can carry them out.
Priorities
Fixes ordered by their effect on how the brand is perceived and by effort.
Fix mockups
In the largest package, designs of improved versions of five key materials.
Walkthrough
In the largest package, an online call where we go through the report and answer questions.
An outside view of your own brand
You cannot see your own brand the way customers do. You look at the same logo and materials every day, so you stop noticing that the business card is a different colour from the website, the PDF proposal uses three typefaces and the Instagram profile looks like another company. A customer sees all of that within one day.
A brand audit is a structured review of those touchpoints. We collect the materials, assess them against the same criteria and write down what is consistent, what is not and what follows from it. The report ends with a fix list ordered by impact and cost, so it is clear where to start.
An audit is not a lead-in to selling a rebrand. Sometimes the brand turns out to be in good shape, and the problem lies in a few materials or in missing rules. Then the recommendation is a logo sheet and new templates, not a new logo. If a new mark is needed, we say so plainly and explain why.
An audit is also useful before a big expense: a new website, a campaign, a new sign or entering a new market. It is better to know what to fix in the brand before the same mistakes are repeated on new materials.

What an audit can lead to
A fix list for your team
When the brand is consistent and problems concern single materials your team can fix.
A logo sheet or guidelines
When the logo is good but everyone uses it differently, because rules are missing.
New templates
When inconsistency comes from every material being made from scratch.
A refresh or rebrand
When the problem lies in the mark itself or the brand no longer fits the offer and customers.
Packages and prices

How we run an audit
Collecting materials1-3 days
You send files and photos of materials, and we collect what is public: the website, profiles and your maps listing.
1Review1-5 days
We assess each touchpoint against the same criteria and note inconsistencies.
2Findings1-3 days
We combine notes into findings and order the fix list by impact and cost.
3Mockups3-7 days
In the largest package, we design improved versions of key materials.
4Report and walkthrough1-2 days
The PDF report and, in the largest package, a walkthrough call.
5
An audit is an assessment, so there are no design revision rounds. We reserve about 15% of the time for clarifying the report after your questions.
What brand audit pricing depends on
The price changes with the number of touchpoints and whether we stop at a fix list or also show how the fixes should look.
- 1
Number of touchpoints
Five key places are a different scope from reviewing signs, packaging and documents across several branches.
- 2
Competitor comparison
Each competitor is a separate review of the same touchpoints.
- 3
Mockups
Showing an improved version of a material is design work, not just a description.
- 4
Access to materials
When materials have to be gathered from many places or photographed, the review takes longer.
How not to overpay
- Start with a quick audit if your brand is small
- Send all materials in one folder
- Audit before a big investment, not after it
- Use the report as the brief for future projects
Who we audit brands for
Companies before a new website or campaign
A list of what to fix before it is repeated on new materials.
Companies considering a rebrand
An answer on whether a new mark is needed or order in rules and materials is enough.
Companies with many suppliers
A review of how different agencies and printers interpret the brand.
Chains, franchises and branches
An assessment of whether every location and branch looks like the same company.
New owners and boards
A quick picture of the brand after an acquisition or a change of management.
How to prepare for an audit
The more materials we see, the fuller the picture. Do not pick only the best ones.
0 / 6 ready
- Logo files and brand guidelines, if they exist

What we check at every touchpoint
| Criterion | What we assess | Typical problem |
|---|---|---|
| Logo | version, proportions, clear space, file quality | a stretched or blurry logo |
| Colours | matching shades across materials | a different colour on the website and in print |
| Typography | number of typefaces and how they are used | several random fonts in one material |
| Photos and graphics | style, quality, consistency | a mix of stock and phone photos |
| Language | tone, form of address, naming | informal on the website, formal in the proposal |
| Legibility | contrast, text size, hierarchy | light text on a light background |
An audit before an investment
An audit pays off most right before an expense that will fix the current look for years: a new website, a sign, a fleet wrap, packaging or a large campaign. Fixing a logo costs less before printing a thousand packs than after.
That is why the report marks which fixes are worth doing before the planned investment and which can wait. If you know what you are planning, mention it in the brief and we will order priorities around that date.
Brand consistency: check it yourself
Before ordering an audit, you can do a quick review on your own. This list helps judge whether an audit is needed.
A self-check list
Gather in one place: the logo from every material, a screenshot of your home page, your last three posts, your business card, a PDF proposal and a photo of your sign or vehicle. Lay them side by side and ask five questions. Does the logo look the same everywhere? Is the brand colour the same colour? How many typefaces can you see? Do the photos share a style? Does the company address customers in the same way?
If you answer yes to every question, the brand is in good shape and an audit can wait. If the answer is no to two or more, it is worth tidying up the brand before more materials are made.
A sample scored report
In the report, each touchpoint is scored in several categories: logo, colours, typography, photos, language and legibility. Next to the score there is a screenshot or photo with the problem marked and a short description of what to change.
At the end, scores are arranged in a table that shows where the brand is least consistent, followed by a fix list from the most important. That way the report can be read in a quarter of an hour, with details checked for each specific fix.
Brand audit, UX audit and SEO audit
These three audits are often confused. A brand audit checks whether the company looks and sounds consistent everywhere. A UX audit checks whether a website or app is easy to use: whether users find what they look for and finish a purchase or form. An SEO audit checks whether the website is visible in search engines.
Each can reveal a problem on your website, but from a different angle. If you are not sure which you need, describe what worries you in your enquiry and we will suggest where to start and whether it is a scope for us or for another specialist.
