A few seconds to keep players on the page
On Steam the trailer appears at the top of the game page and, according to Steamworks, is one of the first things players see. The same documentation points out that in the discovery queue a customer may give a game less than 10 seconds and may watch without sound. The first shots have to show what the game is before any logo or title appears.
We edit trailers from real gameplay recorded from your build. Steam recommends that the first trailer on a page is primarily gameplay, from the player's perspective and ideally with the interface visible. We do not make scenes that pretend to be gameplay.
Every trailer has its own job. An announcement teaser builds curiosity and points to the wishlist, a Steam page trailer explains the gameplay, and a launch trailer shows the full game and the release date. From one edit we also prepare YouTube versions, vertical cuts for social media and short cuts for ads.
A trailer connects with the rest of your launch materials: the game logo, key art, Steam images and press kit. If we make them together, the trailer ends on the same logo card players will see on the capsule.

Teaser, trailer and launch trailer
Teaser
A short film for the announcement. It shows the mood and one strong thing, and ends with an invitation to the game page.
Steam trailer
It explains the gameplay: what the player does, in what world and how this game differs from similar ones.
Launch trailer
It shows the game in full, its best moments and the launch date or that the game is out.
Short cuts
Versions of a dozen or so seconds for ads and vertical ones for social media, cut from the main edit.

We reserve about 15% of the project time for revisions. A build with a UI-free mode and a free camera saves the most time, because it lets us capture shots normal play cannot produce.
What game trailer pricing depends on
The price depends on the length, the source of footage and the number of versions.
- 1
Footage
Capturing gameplay from the build is a separate stage of work.
- 2
Length
A longer trailer needs more shots and a longer edit.
- 3
Motion graphics
Animated cards and logos take more work than static text.
- 4
Versions
Every language, format and short cut is a separate export and check.
How not to overpay
- Prepare a build with a UI-free mode
- Record footage in high quality
- Agree the card text before editing
- Order the trailer with the Steam images
Who we edit game trailers for
Studios before an announcement
When the game needs a teaser for its Steam page and the press.
Games before a festival
When a trailer should bring players to the demo during an event.
Games before launch
When a launch trailer should show the full game and the release date.
Games with a major update
When new content deserves a film of its own.
Publishers
When several games need trailers of similar quality and pacing.
What to prepare before a trailer edit
The more good footage, the better the trailer.

A game trailer that earns the click
Gameplay first
A trailer that opens with a long intro, the publisher logo, the studio logo, a panorama of the world and a title, loses the player before it shows the game. A player in the discovery queue still does not know what the game is and moves on. That is why we open with gameplay and leave the logo for the end.
Steam says it plainly: players are looking for gameplay, so the first trailer on the page should show what the player will be doing, from the perspective they will play in. A visible interface helps show that this is real gameplay.
A trailer without sound
A trailer may be watched muted: in the store, on social media or at work, as the Steam documentation also points out. So it has to work visually: clear shots, short text cards with the key information and a rhythm you can see even without music.
Music and game sounds still matter, because anyone who turns the sound on gets the full experience. We cut to the rhythm of the music, but we check every version muted as well.
Footage from the build
A trailer is only as good as its footage. The best case is a build where you can hide the UI, enable a free camera, invincibility and quick travel to any place in the game. It lets us capture cinematic shots and the best moments without hours of play.
We capture at 1920 x 1080 or higher, at the smooth frame rate the game reaches on strong hardware. If you prefer to record the footage yourself, we prepare a shot list and recording settings.
