Logo design for therapists, psychologists and speech therapists: a calm identity without stock clichés
We design logos and identities for psychologists, psychotherapists, speech therapists and therapy practices. A calm, legible mark without heads with leaves or hands holding hearts, which works on a business card, an appointment card, a door plate and an online profile. Trust starts before the first session
Someone looking for a psychologist or therapist is often doing so at a difficult moment. They browse profiles, websites and cards, looking for a sign that they will find someone calm, professional and attentive. A practice brand does not need to promise anything. It should inspire trust and not get in the way of the decision.
That is why we design therapy practice identities sparingly: with soft but legible typography, a calm palette and a mark that does not repeat the clichés of the field. A head with a leaf, a brain, puzzle pieces, a butterfly and hands holding a heart are stock and logo template symbols that do not set a practice apart, and sometimes look like advertising, which is worth avoiding in this field.
A practice brand works across several media: a business card, an appointment card, a plate at the building entrance, a profile in specialist directories, a website describing your approach and fees. We design them in one style, so someone who found you online recognises the practice at the door.
Practices that provide healthcare inform about their services under healthcare law, and the professions also have their own ethics codes. We design informative rather than promotional materials and suggest what to check. We do not give legal advice.
Kits for therapy practices
Two kits, from a solo practice to one with its own website. Each element is a package from our price list. Kit prices are the sum of the starting prices of packages from our price list, with no surcharge and no discount. The quote gives the exact scope and timeline.

Each one makes a practice look less credible or lost among others.
A stock cliché
A head with a leaf, a brain, puzzle pieces or hands with a heart: a stock or template mark does not help anyone remember your practice.
Loud colours
Strong, saturated colours and harsh contrast clash with what a person in crisis is looking for.
An advertising tone
Slogans promising quick results sound like ads and may breach rules on informing about health services.
No practical information
A website without the first session, fees and how to get in touch leaves clients uncertain.
A stock photo
A smiling person from a stock library makes the website look like an ad. A calm photo of the practice or of you says more.
One style online, another at the door
A profile in one style and a plate in another make the practice harder to recognise.
Clichés we avoid and what to use instead
| Cliché | Why it does not work | What instead |
|---|---|---|
| A head with a leaf or tree | easy to find in stock libraries and templates | a monogram or a calm wordmark |
| A brain or puzzle pieces | sounds clinical or suggests one diagnosis | a form based on conversation, rhythm, space |
| A butterfly | the symbol of psyche, but common in templates and ornate | typography with character and one detail |
| Hands with a heart | emotional, but close to advertising | a warm palette and a calm composition |
Information, not advertising: what to check
Healthcare activity
If the practice is an entity providing healthcare, article 14(1) of the Polish Act on Medical Activity says information about the scope and types of services must not have the features of advertising.
Professional ethics code
Psychological and psychotherapy associations have their own ethics codes. Check the rules of the organisation you belong to.
Titles and qualifications
Give titles and certificates on cards and the website as you obtained them, without abbreviations that could mislead.
Reviews and promises
Avoid promising therapy outcomes and advertising slogans. A factual description of your approach is safer.
What a practice website should include
The first session
What it looks like, how long it takes and what to expect.
Approach and methods
Which approach you work in and with which difficulties, described without jargon.
Fees and session length
Cost and length of a session, and the cancellation policy.
How to get in touch
Phone, form or booking system, with a note on when you reply.
Online sessions
Whether you see clients online and how to prepare for such a session.
Getting there
Address, floor, entrance and accessibility of the practice.
Building a therapy practice brand step by step
Calm without the clichés
A calm brand does not have to be bland.A practice's character comes from typography, proportion, palette and one considered detail, not from a symbol that tries to depict the mind. A good starting point is the way you work: conversation, attention, work with children, couples therapy, body-oriented work.
We choose colours that are calm but not clinical. Instead of cold white and medical blue we suggest warmer, muted tones that look good on a card, a screen and a door plate.
Your name or a practice name
Practising under your own name makes sense, because clients choose a specific person. Then the logo is a wordmark with your name, sometimes with a monogram for small uses such as a profile picture.
When several people work in the practice or you plan to grow it, a practice name works better. Such a brand does not depend on one person, and it is easier for other specialists to join.
The plate and the way to the practice
A practice may be in a residential building, an office block or a medical centre, where it is hard to find.A plate at the entrance, floor and door signs and a short note in a message before the first session reduce the stress of someone coming for the first time.
We design the plate on a photo of the building, at the size the building manager allows, with a file for the maker. The information on it is short and factual: name, practitioner and scope of work.
Website and directory profiles
Before calling, a client wants to know what the first session looks like, how long it takes and what it costs, which approach you use and whether you see people online.A website that answers these questions in calm language lowers the threshold for first contact.
Directory profiles have their own layouts, but the profile picture, cover and style of description can match your brand. We prepare them together with the website, which the software house VulCode, builds.
Online therapy and documents
Some sessions happen online. Then the practice brand appears in the email with the link, in the reminder and in PDF documents, not at the door. An email signature and letterhead in the same style as the plate and website make communication look as careful as the practice.
An HTML email signature and letterhead are part of the stationery package, and certificate, agreement and form templates are prepared as editable Word or Google Docs files you can use without a designer.
