Logo design for electricians, plumbers and installers: vans, workwear and a number readable from afar

We design logos and van wraps for electricians, plumbers, heating installers and air conditioning companies. The key media are the van, workwear and business cards, so we lay out the name, service and phone number to be read from across the street. The starter kit lists the price of every element.

What an installation company needs

A few media that bring in jobs every day.

  • Van wrap

The name, services and number on the doors and back, legible from several metres and on the move.

  • Workwear

The logo on a T-shirt, hoodie and jacket, in an embroidery and print version.

  • Business card

A card with your number left with the client, with services on the back.

  • Service sticker

A small sticker with your number on the fuse box, boiler or air conditioner, so the client knows who to call.

  • Flyer

A flyer for letterboxes and notice boards on new estates.

  • Map profile

A mark that reads as a small icon next to reviews and project photos.

A van that makes the calls for you

An installation company spends its day on the road and outside clients' homes. A van parked by a block of flats or a house is seen by neighbours, passers-by and drivers, and any of them may one day need an electrician or a plumber. If the name and number are legible, the van works as an advert all day.

That is why we start with the van and workwear, not the mark alone. We decide what must be visible from afar and what can be smaller, and design a logo that works in those conditions: simple, high contrast, in one or two colours.

Electricians, plumbers and air conditioning companies have similar needs but a different character. We help you move away from the symbols almost every company in the area uses and find a mark clients remember after one look at the van.

We do not wrap vehicles or print. We prepare files for the wrap shop, the printer and the workwear company, and you pay the supplier directly.

Kits for electricians and plumbers

Two kits, from a sole trader to a company with several crews. Each element is a package from our price list. Kit prices are the sum of the starting prices of packages from our price list, with no surcharge and no discount. The quote gives the exact scope and timeline.

Mistakes in installer logos and van wraps

They show up on the street once the van is on the road, when a fix means a new wrap.

  • The same symbol as everyone

A lightning bolt, a drop, a spanner or a snowflake with a flame make the van look like ten others in the area.

  • Listing every service

Twelve services in small print on the side of a van will not be read by anyone. Pick the three that matter most.

  • A number that is too small

A number nobody can note down from the pavement will not bring in a job.

  • No single colour version

A logo without a one colour version looks poor on a stamp, an invoice and a service sticker.

Mark directions for three types of company

Instead of the symbol the whole trade uses, we look for a feature that sets your company apart. A few directions to start the conversation with.
CompanyWhat we avoidWhere we can start
Electricianlightning bolt, plug, light bulba letter or monogram with a rhythm of lines, a colour associated with safety
Plumberdrop, tap, spannerthe shape of a pipe or joint formed into a letter, a calm palette
Heating and air conditioninga snowflake and a flame side by sideairflow as a form, two colours for warm and cool

These are starting points for a conversation, not finished designs. The final direction comes from your name, the character of the company and the competition in your area.

What belongs on the van

The order of importance we use to lay out a wrap.

Name and mark

The largest element, visible from every side of the van.

What you do

Two or three words, such as electrical installations and solar.

Phone number

Large and high contrast, on the back and sides, where drivers and passers-by look.

Website and area

Smaller, for people who are already interested.

An electrician and plumber brand in practice

The van as the main advert

For a company that works at clients' homes, the van is the brand medium seen every day and in many places. It stands outside a house for an hour or a whole day, drives around the same estates and parks outside shops. That is why we design it like a billboard: little information, strong contrast and a number you can remember.

We prepare the design on a template of your specific van model, accounting for body lines, handles and windows. That way the name does not land on a door crease, and the wrap shop gets files ready to print and cut.

Service stickers and returning clients

A client who needs a boiler or air conditioning service does not always remember who installed it.A small sticker with your logo and number on the equipment solves that and reminds them of you exactly when they are looking for a tradesperson.

The sticker has to be durable and legible in a dark corner of a boiler room, so we design it with a large number and high contrast, and you choose the material with the printer to suit where it will be stuck.

New services without a new brand

Installation companies expand: an electrician adds solar and EV chargers, a plumber heat pumps, an air conditioning company ventilation with heat recovery.A brand designed around one service, with a drop or a lightning bolt in the mark, then starts to get in the way.

That is why we design a mark that describes the company, not one service, and show the scope of work in the text on the van, flyer and website. When a new service arrives, you change the wording, not the whole wrap.

A logo in one colour

An installer's logo ends up in many places without colour: a stamp, an invoice, a handover report, a sticker printed on one colour of vinyl. That is why we design every logo to work in one colour first, and only then choose the palette.

Such a mark is also cheaper to produce: one colour embroidery costs less, and stickers and wraps with fewer vinyl colours are simpler to make.
