A programme residents read before they come

Libraries and community centres run many events: author meetings, concerts, exhibitions, workshops for children, regular classes and school holiday activities. Each one needs a poster, a post and a place in the programme. If every poster is made from scratch in a different style, the institution loses recognition and the team loses time.

That is why we design a system: the logo and colours of the institution, poster templates for different types of events and post templates where you change the title, date, place and photo. A colour or an icon can mark a series, such as classes for children or concerts, so residents know at once what a poster is about.

We design the activity programme and the season offer as a flyer, a folded leaflet or a catalogue, for print and in an online version. For library branches or several community centre venues, we make sure each one has its own badge within one system.

We do not print. We prepare files for the print shop and templates for printing on site. We design the institution website in Figma, and it is built by the software house VulCode we work with every day, or by your developer. If the logo is meant to refer to the municipal coat of arms, we check the rules for using it with you before the design starts.

Mistakes in cultural institution materials

Each one makes an event disappear among other announcements.

  • A poster without hierarchy

A title, date and place hidden between a long description and logos will not stop a passer-by.

  • Logos added at the end

A strip of organiser and co-funder logos squeezed into a finished poster covers the illustration or shrinks the title.

  • Every poster from scratch

Without templates every event looks different, and the team spends time laying out posters instead of on the programme.

  • A programme like a spreadsheet

A list of classes not split by age group and day of the week is hard to read on a notice board and on a phone.

  • Images from a search engine

A photo or illustration found online may have an owner who never agreed to its use.

Events and their materials

Each type of event has its own media and its own key information.

Templates the team fills in itself

Elements that let new announcements come together quickly and in one style.

A poster in several layouts

A version with a photo, with an illustration and with text only, for different types of events.

Series colours

Each series has its own colour or icon within one palette.

A fixed place for logos

A strip for organiser and co-funder logos that does not cover the content.

Social media formats

A post, a carousel and stories in the same style as the poster.

Tutorial

A short video tutorial on how to edit the templates without breaking the layout.

Communication for libraries and community centres step by step

A poster system instead of one-off designs

A cultural institution publishes announcements all year round and cannot wait for a designer for each one.A poster system is a few layouts for different types of events, shared typography and a fixed place for the date, venue and logos.

The team picks a layout, types in the title and date, adds a photo, and the poster looks like part of the same family. Special events, such as a festival or an anniversary, are designed separately, within the same style.

The activity programme and season offer

An activity programme is read by parents, seniors and teenagers, each looking for something different. That is why we split it by age group, day of the week or type of class, and mark series with a colour or an icon.

We design a short programme as a flyer or a folded leaflet, and the full offer as a catalogue, for print and as an interactive PDF to download from the website. The catalogue comes with a template for the next edition.

Social media and announcements

An announcement, a reminder on the day, a recap and a thank you to guests are four posts for a single event.Canva templates in the style of the posters let you prepare them quickly, without a designer.

You get the templates with editing rights and a video tutorial, and in the larger package also with style rules for the team and ready graphics to start with.

Branches and event series

A library with branches or a community centre with several venues needs one mark and a clear badge for each location.Residents should see at once where an event takes place.

Regular series, such as a book club, classes for seniors or film screenings, get their own colour or icon within the palette of the institution, so a series poster is recognisable from afar.

A website with an events calendar

The website of a cultural institution is above all a calendar: what, where and when, with filters by series or age group. On top of that come the activities on offer, opening hours and practical information, easy to read on a phone.

On the website we follow the WCAG accessibility guidelines, which require a contrast of at least 4.5:1 for normal text. The design is made in Figma, and it is built by the software house VulCode or by your developer.
